Visiting A Resident

We have an online booking system to allow you to book visits when it suits you. To allow you to plan ahead, visits can be booked up to 28 days in advance.

We are offering a choice of visiting options as outlined below, with each visit lasting for 45 minutes:

In home visits – held in our visitor room

In home visits – held in the resident’s bedroom

Both of these visits are for a maximum of 3 visitors per residents at any one time slot

Outdoor garden visits, these can be for family and friends up to 6 visitors per resident at one time slot.

If you are coming for an in home visit you will need to arrive 30 minutes before your booked time slot in order to have a lateral flow test ahead of your visit.

Please book at least 24 hours ahead of any proposed visit.

Our online booking system has been set up to help our team manage visiting as effectively as possible and to allow you, to have an easy to use system to arrange your visit. This system will enable us to manage the number of visitors coming to Margaret House as any one time.

Margaret House or Phylomena House.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• • How do I know my booking has been confirmed?

You will receive an email confirmation once you have booked a visit to confirm that this has been made.

• • How do I cancel or amend my booking?

To cancel or amend your booking, please see your confirmation email that will guide you through the process.

• • Could my booking be cancelled by Margaret House?

The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is our top priority and we are continuing to maintain robust infection control plans. Our plans are kept under constant review and are updated as and when advised by local or Govt bodies.  Visiting is still not as it was pre Covid and therefore all visits must be booked in advance and only permitted if it is safe for Margaret House to receive visitors.   We reserve the right to cancel all visits if we are required by Govt guidance or the home deems it unsafe for visiting to continue.

• • When are visits available?

We are now offering visiting 7 days a week. However, visiting can be postponed temporarily, for example in accordance with Govt or local health guidance or due to specific circumstances at the home and therefore may be subject to last minute cancellation.   We will do everything we can to contact you as soon as possible if this happens.

• • Can I book if I don’t have online access?

Yes, if necessary you can book by phone by calling Margaret House and speaking to Sam

• • What do I do when arriving for my visit.

Please come to the main Margaret House entrance, please arrive wearing a face covering.
If you are having a Garden please sign into the visitor book and sanitise your hands a member of staff will then direct you to the Garden gate and the resident you are visiting.
If you are having an in-home visit you will be asked to have a lateral flow test which takes c.30 mins to complete. You will be asked to wait outside while we wait for the results.   Please come back to the main Margaret House entrance after 30 minutes to receive the results.   If negative you will then be :

• For a Margaret House visit asked to sign in and be given all necessary PPE and taken to your resident.
• For Phylomena House you will then be asked to go to the main Phylomena front door where a member of staff will meet you there and ask you to sign in and give you all necessary PPE, you will then be taken to your resident.
• Why are you asking for my contact details

This is so we can register your lateral flow test in accordance with Govt guidance and so that we are able to contact you should we need to cancel the visit for any reason.

• Why are you asking if I have had both vaccinations?

Whilst we are not stopping people who have not been vaccinated from coming to the home at this time, we are trying to ensure that visiting remains as safe as possible for our residents and staff and therefore are recording this information.
