Thomas Kelly

Proprietor

Thomas has a lifetimes’ experience in the care industry, having been bought up in the business originally started by his parents.  He is passionate about elderly care and ensuring that Margaret House remains at the forefront of best practices in both residential and dementia care.

Gail Kelly

Registered Manager

Gail has an extensive background in customer service and ensures that the day to day operation of the care home runs smoothly at all times. Under her management, Margaret House won at the Stars of Social Care Awards 2024 and were Finalists for the ‘Best Family run Business’ at the Hertfordshire Business Awards 2024, were Finalists for ‘Service Excellence’ at the Hertfordshire Business Awards 2023, won the Best Residential & Dementia Care Home Herts 2023 at the Business Elite Awards and have won ‘Best Large Business in Royston’ twice in a row.

Jackie Pope

Home Manager

Jackie has been working in care for over 25 years, starting her career working in the community, before moving to working in Care Homes.  Her main priority is to ensure that all residents at Margaret House feel safe and exceptionally well cared for 24 hours a day.  She completely understands the trust that families place in us and ensures that at all times the home is open, transparent and honest in everything that we do.

Sam Adby

Home Services Manager

Sam has over 25 years’ experience in business operations and marketing. Her background includes running a successful market research company which specialised in health and social care research as well as working with the charity ‘Stepping out with Carers’.  She is the first point of contact for anyone enquiring about the home and is here to help and support residents and their families every step of the way as they consider and potentially decide to come to live with us at Margaret House..

Amanda Harvey

Care Manager

Amanda, or Mandy as she is always called has a true passion for caring.  She ensures that Margaret House and particularly our Phylomena Wing where she is normally based is a happy, friendly and caring place at all times, with a true home from home atmosphere.

Vishnu Puthiyottil

Care Manager

Vishnu has over 5 years experience in care.  He ensures that Margaret House and particularly our Margaret House building where he is normally based is always a welcoming, homely environment with a happy family atmosphere.

Lea-Ann Smith

Social and Wellbeing Manager

Lea-Ann, is a serial award winning Manager.  She was a finalist at the Great British Care Awards 2023,  a Finalist for the 2022  Herts Care Providers Care Team of the Year, winner of the 2020 Apetito Enhancing Health and Wellbeing Award,  Finalist for ‘Care Employee of the Year’ at the Caring UK Awards 2019 and the winner of the 2018 Herts Care Providers Award for  ‘Compassion in Care’.  She and her team are passionate about their roles and are always looking for new and interesting activities for residents to enjoy, ensuring that a wide variety of both group and one to one wellbeing  activities take place.  Lea-Ann makes it her mission to find out what each resident personally likes and enjoys, to ensure that our wellbeing programme caters to everyones individual’s needs.

Catering Manager

Catering Manager

John has over 27 years experience as a Catering Manger within the hospitality industry and previously ran 3 successful ‘foodie’ pubs.   He devises a seasonally changing, nutritionally balanced and delicious menu, as well as special meals across the year showcasing different cuisines – such as our ‘Chinese New Year Banquet’.   He also caters for our very popular monthly themed ‘Supper Club’    John and his team are happy to provide personalised menus to meet any specific dietary requirements.

Hazel White

Housekeeping Manager

Hazel and her team ensure that the home is clean and tidy at all times.  She has successfully overseen our move to a new environmentally friendly cleaning system, which uses Stablised Aqueous Ozone (basically water and oxygen) that kills 99.999% of germs without the need for harmful chemicals.  As an avid reader, she also runs our very popular monthly book club for residents.
