Dementia Action Week

Lea-Ann & Sam held 2 Dementia Friends Information sessions to support DAW. The first was held at Margaret House and the second was at the Royston Business Network. They have already made 32 new Dementia Friends, but will be holding more sessions in our own Dementia Week taking place 2—6 July — see further below for details of all that will be taking place.

Royston Business Awards 2018

We are thrilled to have been shortlisted as Finalists again for these awards (we won Best Large Business the last time they were held in 2016) the winner will be announced on the 21st June, so we are keeping our fingers crossed!
Care Home Lift

Fully refurbished lift for Margaret House

We are very pleased to say that the work to refurbish the lift in Margaret House has been completed on schedule and it is now back in service again and available for all the residents to use.

GDPR

In order to comply with the new GDPR regulations, we need to ensure that we have updated agreements regarding how we handle any data we hold for our residents and relatives. If you have not yet signed the new documents, please can we ask you to either see Michelle when you next visit the home, or call her on 01763 848272 so that she can email you the relevant paperwork. Please do not hesitate to ask if you would like to see a copy of our Privacy Policy.

Margaret House Dementia Awareness Week

Mon 2 — Fri 6 July
We are holding a week of events to increase awareness of what it’s like to live with dementia. Please join us for as many events as possible and feel free to invite friends/relatives to join in

MONDAY 10.30 am Magic Morning Coffee

(Come for coffee & to see the new games in action)

TUESDAY 10.15am or 11.15am Information Session

(Take part in an interactive Session & become a Dementia Friend — the Alzheimer’s Society is trying to getting 4million friends by 2020)

THURSDAY 9.30am or 12.15pm Virtual Dementia Tour

(These sessions allow you to experience first hand what it might be like to live with dementia — everyone that has take part previously has said that it was the most amazing experience)

FRIDAY 10.30am Chamber of Commerce Coffee

(We are inviting members of the Local Chamber of Commerce to visit Margaret House and to experience the Magic Table for themselves)
