Margaret House residential and dementia care home in Barley, Royston has been voted one of the Top 20 Care Homes in the East of England. The Carehome.co.uk Top 20 Awards 2017 highlight the most recommended care homes in each region of the UK. The awards are based on over 40,000 reviews from residents and friends/families of residents.
Margaret House was also featured on BBC Look East Breakfast News and the That’s Cambridge News Show last week, when they were asked to speak about the innovative Magic Table, which they were the 1st home in the East of England to get and which has been specifically developed to help people living with dementia.
The home is not only offering the benefits of the Magic Table to its residents, but also holds ‘Magic Morning’ sessions on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, where anyone in the local community who is living with mild to mid stage dementia is invited to come in with their carer and take part. The sessions provide opportunities for real moments of joy for everyone as they play the different games.
