Margaret House in Barley, held a coffee morning and raffle to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society as part of Dementia Awareness Week. Lea-Ann Smith, Activities Co-ordinator,who organised the event said “it was great that so many relatives, residents and staff bought raffle tickets and supported the event – we had a lovely morning, our kitchen baked some fantastic cakes for us to enjoy with our coffee and we had super prizes to be won. The event raised £140 and we are adding that to the £200 that we raised with our sponsored cycle a couple of weeks ago, which means that we will be sending the Alzheimer’s Society a cheque for £340.”
